Who is afraid of the truth from Brussels? The transitional media are already stumping with their feet before an independent investigation

“Interfering of Brussels can be a double-edged sword. The success of European interventions is questionable, especially if it would foster a feeling in Slovene politics that the EU is not part of the solution but part of the problem” they wrote today in the “independent” and “transparent” newspaper Delo, where they are concerned about various “feelings” within Slovene politics. Of course, the government’s belief in the rationale for the intervention of an independent commission from Brussels, which would expose all the rottenness of our central media, is trying to be rocked. In short, it is a manipulation by creating an atmosphere of fear, by those who are really afraid of what might happen… But if they were not intimidated by a recent article in Politico that was a single emotional outburst and below any level of journalistic professionalism, then they do not need to be afraid of another foreign, truly independent intervention that will do its job superbly. If they are honest in their reporting, they have nothing to fear.

It could not have been more obvious. According to the first reactions in the media, the transitional left is already trembling before the independent investigation, which was supported by Prime Minister Janez Janša. How do we know that? After the reaction of their bulletin or political trumpet, which responds to the name Delo, and which regularly broadcasts all their feelings and fears, and above all, faithfully opposes almost all the good that the current government of Janez Janša is doing for this country. Even now, they would not have launched such resistance if they had not been afraid. Of course, they do not do this like hooligans, they do it politely as befits such a “transparent” and “professional” medium. You just need to read between the lines. Today, for comparison, we have already published a contribution with a daily analysis of the reporting of this mainstream media, entitled “Do you still believe in the independence of the mainstream media? Among the articles, there is almost no one which would take a government-friendly position”.

As readers can see, on the day of the analysis, February 26th, 2021, not a single article was published that would “criticise the opposition, summarise the government’s narrative, or praise the government”. But if we do them injustice and report as befits them, then what would they be afraid of? If they applauded that intensely to the emotional outburst of the Politico’s journalist, saying that she “did her job professionally and thoroughly”, and as it seems, various interventions from abroad are close to their hearts, then they have nothing to fear, because this intervention is supposed to be real “professional” and “thoroughly done”. Of course, we know that Lili Bayer did not do her homework professionally in any way. She merely “thoroughly” wrote down the fear of Slovene left activism against Janša, while she did not ask for the opinion of any journalists who thinks differently as they would proudly reveal their name and surname.

She also did not publish data on ownership shares in the media and did not make a single analysis of the daily reporting of individual media, as was done by the socio-political commentator Tomaž Štih. At the same time, she forgot to publish the answers to her questions to the Slovenian government. In short, one big sloppiness. If she wants to fix her homework, she has the answers on the government’s website in English. But let’s get back to the point. In the already mentioned newspaper they wrote yesterday: “Interfering of Brussels can be a double-edged sword. The success of European interventions is questionable, especially if it would foster a feeling in Slovene politics that the EU is not part of the solution but part of the problem. The question is what would happen if part of the Slovene right concluded that the European institutions, when it comes to the rule of law, freedom of the media, or the standards of democracy, sided with its domestic political opponents.”

Časnik newspaper tries to frighten the “part of the Slovenian right” and comfort its readers

“Would you simply accept this or would you perhaps start looking at them through the prism of internal political struggles?” Another short subtitle to the record: It is a similar concept of manipulation as in Politico – with fear. Delo newspaper warns the “part of the Slovene right” to think twice, because the “boomerang” it wants to throw could return to it and hit their heads, while at the same time Časnik is convincing its readers that Janša’s proposal for the establishment of such a commission is absurd. But those at Časnik can be the only ones afraid, or the gentlemen behind it. A very telling manipulation is also the photo in the published article and tweet. This is the mentality of the very left wing, which likes to snitch Slovenia in the West, and at the same time flirts with the East, with autocratic regimes from the periphery of Europe and Asia.

As mentioned, today we have already published an analysis of the daily political reporting of individual central Slovenian media. “Propaganda Analysis II., 26.02.2021, stories marked in red either criticise the government, summarise the opposition narrative, or praise the opposition. Stories criticising the opposition, summarising the government’s narrative, and praising the government are marked in green,” socio-political commentator Štih, under the pseudonym Libertarec, wrote on his Twitter profile.
