New National Conservative Think Tank ‘Heimr’ Launched in Sweden, Focuses on Remigration and Nordic Identity

By A. S.

A new national conservative think tank named Heimr has officially launched in Sweden, with a strong emphasis on promoting remigration and preserving Nordic cultural identity. The organization, whose name derives from the Old Norse word for “home,” aims to challenge what it calls the “dominant liberal consensus” in Swedish politics.

At its launch event in Stockholm, Heimr presented its first policy paper titled “Remigration is Inevitable – A Necessary Shift in Migration Policy.” The report argues that Sweden must begin reversing decades of immigration policy through systematic repatriation programs, which the group claims are essential to national cohesion and security.

The founding team includes notable figures from Sweden’s nationalist political circles, such as Jeff Ahl, former MP for the Sweden Democrats and a founding member of Alternative for Sweden (AfS), Andreas Feymark, with a background in conservative party politics and Ernst Robert Almgren, former youth wing leader and ideological strategist. They describe Heimr as a research-based alternative to existing conservative think tanks, like Oikos, which they claim have taken too soft or reformist an approach to cultural and migration issues. “We are not interested in minor adjustments or cautious reforms,” Almgren said. “Sweden needs a fundamental realignment—culturally, politically, and demographically.”

Heimr will rely primarily on donations from private individuals and supporters who align with its vision. It plans to publish research reports, host conferences, engage with politicians, and produce media content including podcasts and opinion columns. Its first major publication is available for free online and sets the tone for the organization’s future work: hardline proposals on reducing immigration, rethinking integration, and initiating large-scale return migration schemes.

Supporters claim Heimr is filling a gap in Swedish political discourse, providing intellectual justification for stricter migration policies.  Over the coming months, Heimr plans to expand its network among conservative politicians and thought leaders, release more publications on migration, national identity, and sovereignty, and increase its media presence through digital platforms and public debates.
