Kaczynski: No money can buy our sovereignty

By: V4 Agency

“We were determined to defend our sovereignty,” Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the leader of Poland’s ruling party said. He pointed out that very precise provisions were negotiated during the talks, as Poland will not agree to solutions that are contrary to the country’s culture.

“We were prepared not to join the recovery fund if the outcome of the negotiations was unfavourable and endangered our country’s sovereignty,” Jaroslaw Kaczynski, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister, said.

Poland was determined to defend its sovereignty and would not have yielded to pressure, he  added. He pointed out that Poland eventually emerged as a winner from the talks and managed to negotiate strong guarantees that will ensure the country’s freedom.

“As long as we are in power, we will protect our country’s interests in a tough but rational and intelligent way, and as you can see, we do so effectively,” Kaczynski said. He warned, however, that the situation must be seen realistically, and although the delegation has achieved everything that could be achieved, the EU will continue to pursue its federalist aspirations.
