Donald Trump´s suspension on Twitter means that the censorship that has been happening for years is rapidly increasing

By A.S.

Recently the account of U.S. President Donald Trump was permanently suspended on Twitter. The reason for this was, as the social media giant claimed »the risk of further incitement of violence«.

The permanent ban came after a 12-hour suspension in the aftermath of the events on Capitol Hill which was stormed by Trump supporters during the certification of Biden´s victory.

The account Real Donald Trump was shut down after a close review of recent tweets “and the context around them – specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter”, Twitter stated in an official statement. “In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action,” the statement read. Apart from the Twitter ban, a number of Democrats in Congress, and other opponents of Trump, called for the invoking of the 25th amendment and removing Trump from office. Other Trump advisors also had their Twitter accounts suspended for similar reasons.

For some, it may seem that this means the beginning of the new era of censorship, but the truth is that such censorship, although on a smaller scale, has been practiced for years by the big social media companies, and other big tech. Exploiting the fact that they are private companies, they have been censoring anything that doesn’t apply to their community standards for years, without having to respect basic freedom of speech. It seem s that with the suspension of Trump´s account this censorship is rapidly increasing and growing, creating a society< in which all politically incorrect or “dissident” opinions will be shut down.

Censorship of different views and opinions, not befitting for a truly democratic society, has becoming normalized and is supported by the “freedom-loving” leftists and liberals who have become enforcers and pawns of the international elites, corporations, and of the deep state, which wants its critics silenced. Authors of the “dissident right” had their books pulled off Amazon, bank accounts closed down, and social media profiles suspended countless times. One of such latest cases is the suspension of the account of the Red Ice TV by their credit card processor. Baron Bodissey, a conservative author and an administrator of the blog Gates of Vienna had his Paypal account suspended last year, and the same happened even before with various identitarian movements who had their bank accounts closed down, and were completely banned from Facebook. Such publishers as the Counter-Currents also had their accounts terminated by credit card companies, and books from authors such as Jared Taylor, Greg Johnson, and other similar authors are banned on Amazon.

It seems that with the latest suspension of Trump´s account this censorship is getting new proportions, not only trying to shut down various “dissident” authors but denying the right of freedom of speech to the leader of the so-called “free world”.
