Biden paves the way for Soros’s plan to finance migration

By: V4 Agency

A few years ago US stock market speculator George Soros announced his intenton to spend 500 million dollars on supporting migrants, and US President Joe Biden now appears to be removing every obstacles that stands in the way of Soros’s plan.

In 2016, George Soros announced his intention to invest 500 million dollars in pro-migration programmes and organisations.

“We will invest in startups, established companies, social impact initiatives, and businesses started by migrants and refugees. These investments are intended to be successful. But our primary focus is to create products and services that truly benefit migrants and host communities,” George Soros said in an official statement.

Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF) shell out hefty sums each year on pro-migration organisations. One such group that enjoys funding from George Soros is the Canadian Global Refugee Sponsorship Initiative (GRSI). OSF’s website shows that they received 292 thousand dollars in 2018 and 405 thousand dollars in 2017 in funding.

The Ottawa-based organisation’s website says the initiative “works to assist and inspire countries around the world to open new pathways for refugee protection”. Its listed partners include the government of Canada, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Open Society Foundations, the Giustra Foundation, the Shapiro Foundation and the University of Ottawa.

US President Joe Biden is clearly in favour of admitting migrants. Soon after his inauguration, he signed several executive orders in support of immigration. A day after he took office, he submitted to legislature a proposal that would offer an opportunity to some 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States to first obtain a legal status and then, after many years, to become citizens.

One of his executive orders gives an opportunity to use the community sponsorship model to settle migrants in the United States through “public-private sponsorships”.

Biden signed an executive order on 4 February aimed at reshaping the bureaucracy to accommodate 125,000 immigrants in the 2022 business year.

Paragraph “k” of the executive order states that the capacity of the US Refugee Admissions Program shall be enhanced “to welcome refugees by expanding the use of community sponsorship and co-sponsorship models by refugee resettlement agencies, and by entering into new public-private partnerships.”

GRSI welcomed the new executive order with great enthusiasm. Jennifer Bond, the organisation’s president rejoiced on Twitter. She wrote:

The official Twitter account of GRSI stated:

GRSI appears to be prepared to do more than just celebrate the Biden administration’s plan to increase refugee resettlement through public-private partnership, according to Breitbart. At least one of its partner organisations, The Shapiro Foundation, has already paid for the resettlement of more than 1,100 refugees in Canada during 2018 and 2019 by funding local community sponsors of refugees. Overall, the Shapiro Foundation spent about 20 million dollars on refugee resettlement projects in 2018 and 2019.

The portal remarks that in September 2020, perhaps in anticipation of a Biden presidential victory, GRSI’s concept of community sponsorship for refugees was picked up in the United States when two of its sponsors, The Shapiro Foundation and the Open Society Foundations, were joined by G. Barry Landrie and Laurie T. Franz to form the Community Sponsorship Catalyst Fund.

The rules of the new funding system will be written by pro-immigration Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
