Andrzej Duda: I want the vaccination process to run smoothly

By: V4 Agency

I want the vaccination process to run smoothly, and the decisions made should be accurate, effective, and met with understanding, said Polish President Andrzej Duda, after consulting with Poland’s premier and health minister on the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination programme on Monday.

“The national vaccination programme is ahead of us. That’s why I invited Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki  and government representatives,” the Polish president wrote on his social media.

Running the vaccination process smoothly is of key importance, Mr Duda stressed.

“The health of Polish people comes first!” he emphasized.

According to the plan presented last week, the programme aims to achieve herd immunity in 2021. The coronavirus vaccine will be available free of charge, and taking the jab will be voluntary in Poland.

The vaccine will first be administered to doctors and healthcare workers, staff and residents of social care homes and institutions, as well as to soldiers and people aged over 65.
