“The situation is difficult and we can overcome it if we follow reason and solidarity. A few weeks of school dropout can, as a last resort, be replaced by an extension into the summer. But a week of healthcare failure will result in consequences that can never be remedied. And some applies to failures in the critical industries,” commented Prime Minister Janez Janša, on the current epidemiological situation and the implemented measures.

At today’s session, the government extended most of the measures implemented so far, while adopting some additional restrictions. The situation is difficult, which is confirmed by today’s numbers of infected, dead and those in need of hospital treatment.

As Prime Minister of Slovenia, Janez Janša, emphasized, we will overcome the situation only with reason and solidarity. A few weeks of school failure can be replaced by an extension into the summer, but one week of health care failure can never be remedied, nor can the consequences of a critical industry failure.

Janša also pointed out that the government had suggested to RTV that they record a show/conversation on Sunday or Monday about the situation and the current measures, however, the national television with three channels did not find programming time. The RTV leaders should ask themselves whether they still acting in the public interest?

The government has already reserved vaccine for 60 percent of the population

A positive news was announced by Minister of Health Tomaž Gantar – the government had reserved a vaccine for 60 percent of the population. “We have also adopted a national plan, firstly the endangered groups will be vaccinated. We have a meeting with the first vaccine producer on Monday, and we will try to finalize the possibility of starting vaccination in the second half of December,” Gantar wrote on Twitter.
