How Robert Golob abused the Istrabenz and its shareholders to finance his wife’s private kindergarten

By: Domen Mezeg / Nova24tv

“Documents confirm that Golob supported his wife’s private kindergarten also financially from the company’s funds, because the donations are determined by the director. In 2011, the Istrabenz transferred 96,000 euros to the kindergarten’s account, and a year later (2012) almost 30,000 euros. The kindergarten was attended by as many as 83% of children whose parents were not employed by either the Istrabenz-Gorenje company or Gen-I. A special benefit was Istrabenz’s transfer of all kindergarten equipment to the private company of Golob’s wife,” another case of damage to Istrabenz and its shareholders by Golob was revealed on Planet TV.

There is no end to the hogwash of electro oligarch Robert Golob. Let us recall the recent revelations from the time when he was still the head of IGES (Istrabenz Gorenje energy systems), when he bought a stake in the bankrupt company Intrade energija Ltd Sarajevo of its Bosnian lobbyist Nihad Spahalić worth 15 million euros. According to experts, this was to the detriment of Istrabenz and shareholders for Golob’s private interests, similarly to the state-owned company Gen-I for an illegal monthly salary of 45,000.

New revelations from Planet TV reveal that the electro-tycoon, in 2008 as the President of the Management Board of Gen-I, in search of protection for his child, came up with his own private kindergarten – the Sonček Children’s House. They summed up Golob’s words at the time: “We envisioned childcare as an additional standard for our employees.” The kindergarten was run by Jana Nemec Golob, the wife of an electro-tycoon. With the merger of companies under one roof, her kindergarten had over 156 thousand euros in revenue in the first year (2011), and almost 71 thousand euros the following year (in 2012). However, the documents confirm that Golob also flooded it financially from the company’s funds, because the donations are determined by the director.

In 2011, the Istrabenz transferred 96,000 euros to the kindergarten’s account, and a year later (2012) almost 30,000 euros. As many as 83% of children whose parents are not employed by the Istrabenz-Gorenje company or Gen-I attended the kindergarten. A special benefit was Istrabenz’s transfer of all kindergarten equipment to the private company Golob’s wife. We now know why Golob clung so tightly to his 15-year position at the Gen-I summit, blaming political staffing for everything. As if only he is capable of running a state (!!!) company. Public records show that the entity, 100% privately owned by Golob’s wife, was already closed in 2016, as evidenced by alleged insolvency. Another failed Golob’s business, like the Bosnian one with hydroelectric power plants?
