Slovenia saw a record-low number of traffic accident casualties and injuries last year, with December being the first month without any casualties since 1954.

Nevertheless, the main causes remain drunk driving, speeding and right-of-way violations. Nearly 15,000 road accidents were recorded in Slovenia last year, a drop of 21% over 2019, data from the Traffic Safety Agency show. Total casualty toll reached 80, 22% below the 2019 figure.
