Just like in the case of the Roma issue, now too, despite clear evidence that Ivan Simič did not write off Igor Bavčar’s debts, Minister Luka Mesec will once again offer tearful explanations, insisting that he is not to blame for anything.
And why is this important? Before the last elections, when Levica became a governing party and Luka Mesec a minister, it was he who accused the tax expert of these actions.
Because people keep evidence, Ivan Simič published footage of Luka Mesec’s appearance in which, back in 2022, he accused the tax expert of having written off €2.7 million in debt for Igor Bavčar through his involvement in Janez Janša’s government. Even then, Ivan Simič warned that these were misleading claims and lies, but no one, not even the media, seemed to care. Today, the situation has been clarified, and the minister has been exposed as dishonest.
“Now that it is proven I did not write off Igor Bavčar’s tax debt, I expect an apology from Minister Luka Mesec, who was caught lying during the debate on April 12, 2022. The prosecution dismissed my criminal complaint. This is what it looks like when you become a minister through lies,” Ivan Simič explained.
