Former Prime Minister Marjan Šarec ate a lot of promised bread: “When I leave this government, I will never comment on my successors!”

There is no indication that former Prime Minister Marjan Šarec would be a man of his word and would stick to his principles, namely that he is now doing exactly what he thought was completely tasteless some time ago. “When you are an ex you are an ex, you had a chance then, but now be quiet,” Šarec emphasised on April 6th last year, but we could see that he did not last long in silence, as he began to criticise the new government as soon as it took office. Although he himself is the one who threw a rifle into the corn during difficult times and was among those responsible that we were completely unprepared for the crisis we have not witnessed since independence. Marjan Šarec has not been the Prime Minister for more than half a year, but he still advertises and comments a lot from the opposition benches. We are therefore witnessing a situation where Šarec does not even follow his own advice.

In an interview with Insider on April 6th, 2019, Marjan Šarec pointed out the following: “I especially like various former ministers who are now pretending to be smart. You will not hear me say anything about Kamnik now, not a word. And when I leave this government, I will also never comment on my successors. When you’re an ex you’re an ex, you had an opportunity then, but now be quiet.”

He didn’t wait long for it to talk

Apparently, the promised bread is eaten the most, namely in the second half of March Šarec started commenting on Facebook and despised the work of the new government of Janez Janša, which did more in one week than his government in a year and a half. Among other things, he scolded some members of the Crisis Staff and wondered if they had really missed everything. “Good morning, after some deliberation, I decided to turn to you and write some thoughts. Not because I wouldn’t have anything else to do, but because I was challenged several times over the past week. In fact, we were all challenged in some way. That is why I am asking you in advance to forgive me for the political words that I thought I would be able to leave aside during the crisis,” he wrote in the very introduction.
