Police officers from the Ormož Police Station stopped a car driven by a Turkish citizen living in Belgium today at 00.30 in Mihovci near Velika Nedelja. He was transporting three illegal refugees, Turkish citizens, in the vehicle.

The suspect was taken into custody and will be brought to the investigating judge of the District Court in Ptuj for a criminal complaint of Prohibited crossing of the state border or territory. The illegal refugees will be handed over to the Croatian security authorities after the procedure is completed.

THE STOLEN VEHICLE WAS FOUND

Last night, police officers at the Zavrč International Border Crossing found that a 55-year old Croation who was leaving our country with a vehicle for transporting vehicles with Croatian license plates, had an Audi Q3 car loaded, which in the Schengen Information System records is recorded as stolen. The tendering country is Austria.

Police officers seized the vehicle, and the circumstances of the theft and transport of the vehicle are still being investigated.
