Recently, EU released its great member state Eurobarometer. The results from the public opinion poll show that Immigration still is the most important issue for European citizens – but not in Sweden. The Swedes are more concerned over climate change and rank the climate as their top concern on both European and national level.
The Eurobarometer is released twice a year and sums up public opinion of 27,000 respondents in 33 countries; all member states plus five pending states.
The recently released poll show that support for both the Union and the Euro has increased and 55% of the respondents believe that democracy functions well in the EU institutions.Immigration tops with 34%
When responding to “What do you think are the two most important issues facing the EU at the moment?”, 34% of the respondents answered immigration.
The ranking of immigration is still the Europeans’ main concern even though the figures have dropped since last poll when 40% ranked immigration as their main issue.
In this poll, Climate change sails up to the Europeans’ second concern with an average rate of 22%.
