With his behaviour, he is unworthy of the journalistic profession, but now he is even the editor on the news programme of TVS

By: Nova24tv.si

“The ‘stench’ culture of Rupar!” is just another insult in a series by Gregor Drnovšek. He is a journalist with a high school education who, after the “depoliticisation”, has managed to move into the position of acting editor of the news programme editorial office at RTV.

After the retirement protest, someone defiled a boy with a whistle, drawing a red star and a swastika on him, and placed a plastic bag over his head. The initiator of the retirement protest, Pavel Rupar, strongly rejected responsibility for the act, so it increasingly appears that someone else did it to discredit retirees.

The leader of the retirement protests dismissed all insinuations and emphasised that he filed a criminal complaint against unknown perpetrators. Although anyone in their right mind can conclude that graffiti and vandalism are not something attributed to retirees, this was an ideal opportunity for Gregor Drnovšek to launch new insults.

Rupar demanded that the incident be investigated, and according to his account, two younger perpetrators committed the act. Moreover, the perpetrators should be easily identifiable from the cameras around the building, as there are reportedly several of them. However, Drnovšek is not interested in the truth; he has repeatedly demonstrated that spreading hatred against those who think differently is his sole focus.

There were also news teams present, and they did not manage to capture anyone actually doing what was accused.

RTV Slovenia, which should be an exemplary and dignified journalistic institution, has become an organisation of disdain and destruction of those who think differently, thanks to activists like Drnovšek. Recall that during Janša’s government, one of the main activists, Helena Milinković, referred to her colleagues as “rabid dogs”. Drnovšek has shown his disrespect for those who think differently multiple times on the programming board as well.

His communication style, if we can even call it that, is not surprising. Drnovšek is also the acting editor of the editorial office for the informative programme at RTV, and his boss is Polona Fijavž. Whatever this position may mean, it increasingly seems like a reward for his political activism.
