With 17 votes in favour, the RTV Programme Council approved the Programme-Production Plan for the year 2022. The management team of the national media outlet RTV Slovenia thanked the councillors for their support.  Director-General Andrej Grah Whatmough, Valentin Areh, and Mirko Štular later presented more information at Tuesday’s press conference.

At its 32nd regular session that was held on Monday, the Programme Council of RTV Slovenia approved the proposal of the Programme-Production Plan for the year 2022, which was prepared by the management team of the public broadcasting service RTV Slovenia. The draft plan was supported by 17 programme councillors, five voted against it, and four abstained from the vote. The Programme Council also gave a positive opinion on the draft of the Financial Plan for the year 2022.

In addition to its decision, the Programme Council also allowed for a three-month transitional period for the gradual implementation of part of the programme changes related to the TV Slovenia news programme. Even before the introduction of changes, the management will try to come to an agreement regarding the changes with the programme and production workers, wherever that is possible.

The document was created with RTV viewers, readers and listeners in mind
Director-General of RTV Slovenia, Andrej Grah Whatmough, thanked the programme councillors for their support: “The management team wants to thank the councillors for their support, and at the same time point out that we are aware of the great responsibility that comes with the approval of the Programme-Production Plan for next year. The document was created with the idea that in the coming years, we want to offer our viewers, listeners and readers the richest, most readable, listenable and watchable content of the highest quality. Therefore, some content will be upgraded and modernised in the next year, while other content will be removed completely to make room for new broadcasts. All in the hope that we will be able to fulfil our public mission and satisfy the needs of our audience.”
