The fact that Levica and the left have completely run out of arguments, and are in fact afraid that people might end up with higher wages, which could end tragically for the left in the next elections, is also evident in their opposition to the new tax relief.
As an overused cliché, they now accuse everyone, including Aleksander Reberšek, of “fighting for longer yachts for capitalists”. At the same time, they fail to present the numbers showing that they themselves are fighting for greater poverty among citizens.
This is not made up, the data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia show that Golob’s government managed to increase the risk of long‑term poverty by as much as 4 percentage points in just four years. NSi MP Aleksander Reberšek presented this as well, explaining that the numbers clearly show who is fighting for whom. A closer look at the graph reveals that during Janez Janša’s government the rate was 5%, while last year it reached 9%, meaning that the left managed to raise the poverty risk by 80%.
“It is interesting that poverty always falls under our governments and rises under left‑wing governments! I have been saying this all along. The left creates the poor, and then it “fights” for them! Is everything clear now?” This is Reberšek’s message to Levica and the left.
