If Robert Golob does not resign as Prime Minister within a month, the Voice of Slovenian Pensioners will escalate protests, announced its president, Pavle Rupar.
Rupar observes that life in Slovenia is worsening. “Fuel prices have risen again, you may have noticed unusual price changes in stores – of course, upwards. Pensions will only be adjusted by 4.6%, which effectively means around €143 less in real terms than what you could buy with that money three years ago. Network charges remain the same as before,” he warned.
He also claims that the Voice of Pensioners party is absent from polls because it suits certain interests. Nevertheless, he insists they will not give up. “We are going all the way, we are strong – that is why there is so much pressure on us,” he wrote.
Additionally, he urged pensioners to sign a petition for a referendum against privileged pensions in the cultural sector. “We must not allow our pensions to flow into the pockets of privileged individuals,” he stated.
