For the past four years, we taxpayers have been watching a government that, at every session, demonstrated textbook examples of how to extract as much money as possible from taxpayers, or redirect taxpayers’ money to its own selected projects.

The government of Robert Golob did not abandon this practice even at its last session, where it found yet another project for co‑financing journalism jobs.

It is important to understand what kind of journalism and what kind of journalistic positions Golob’s government advocated. They even approached the national broadcaster with ideas and actions aimed at turning journalists into socio‑political workers who would serve their political agenda. At their final session, they went a step further and issued a plan for development programmes to co‑finance journalistic work.

This heavy‑handed move prompted a reaction from Dr Boštjan M. Turk, who sent a clear message: “How they rob us taxpayers in broad daylight, without shame.” So, we are witnessing yet another project through which Golob’s government tries to drain working citizens as much as possible, all to educate people who would once again help them return to power in the next elections!?
