Golob transferred 20 million euros from Gen-I to a private individual just before the elections

The Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (CPC) today released an updated version of the Erar tool, which now allows insight into payments made to private individuals by public institutions and companies that are 100% state-owned.

The updated tool reveals that the state-owned company Gen-I, which was led by Prime Minister Robert Golob until May 27th, 2022, transferred a staggering 20 million euros to a private individual on March 28th, 2022. The recipient’s identity is not disclosed, but the transaction was made just before the last elections, held on April 24th, 2022.

This has led some to question whether the money was used for Robert Golob’s and the Freedom Movement’s election campaign and whether a new major scandal is emerging.

It is worth noting that Gen-I had attempted to block the implementation of the updated version of Erar. The company even appealed to the Constitutional Court, but this did not prevent the publication of the new Erar version.
