In a worrying incident, a radical Islamist teacher at a Pakistani Islamic seminary Jamia Hafsa beheaded the effigy of French President Emmanuel Macron in front of women students many of whom were children, Swarajya reports.
The act was done to demonstrate their anger against French President for defending the right to draw cartoons of prophet Muhammad.
The video of the disturbing act went viral on social media and invited criticism from multiple social media users who questioned the motive to do such an act in front of children.
Tayyaba Dua Ghazi, daughter of Deobandi cleric Abdul Aziz Ghazi, was quoted as saying by research institute SAMRI, “We shall avenger our Prophet’s honor. We seek the Prophet’s approval, not FATF White List. France can’t insult the Prophet and maintain the glory of Paris. As you sow, so shall you reap.”
