A crew working to remove litter from the drainage systems in Mexico City discovered a ‘giant rat’ which had been stuck in the underground tunnels for a number of years
Workers cleaning out a city drainage system were left stunned after coming face-to-face with a ‘giant rat’ that dwarfed them in size.
As crews battled to remove 22 tons of litter from Mexico City’s sewage tunnels, they discovered the incredibly lifelike ‘creature’ with realistic fur sat in a hunched over position.
The rat turned out to be a very creative Halloween prop, which is reported to have been stored in a warehouse but ‘washed away’ during heavy storms in Mexico, leaving its owner with no idea where it had gone.
It somehow found its way into the labyrinth of drains under the city, where sat waiting to be discovered for years.
