Rod Stewart wants to make a film about his life after being inspired by legends Elton John and Freddie Mercury.
Veteran rocker Rod Stewart wants to follow in the footsteps of Elton John and Freddie Mercury… by having a film made of his life.
Sir Rod, 75, reckons Welsh actor Rhys Ifans would be perfect to play him, as long as he can make his lanky hair look like Rod’s famous blond locks.
He said of Rhys, 52, who made his name as scruffy housemate Spike in 1999 hit Notting Hill: “Yeah, Rhys would be a very good idea. [But] he has got to do something with his barnet.”
Last year Sir Elton’s story was told in Rocketman, starring Taron Egerton, while Freddie and his band Queen’s career were put on the big screen in Bohemian Rhapsody in 2018, which starred Rami Malik as Mercury.
