It is time for Janša!

At a time when Slovenian society is more divided than ever since independence, when political decision-makers are subject to interest groups, globalist agendas, and ideological attempts to reshape fundamental social norms, it is time for us as a nation to once again reflect on what we truly want and who can lead us out of this crisis.

Many of us feel that we need a leader – not a manager, not a trader, not a political opportunist, but a person with integrity, vision, and courage. Someone who can distinguish between populism and responsibility, between street pressure and long-term stability. Someone who is not willing to sell out national interests for poll ratings or coalition peace. We need Janez Janša. His experience, his determination, and his principles are exactly what Slovenia needs in these times. And as young people, we feel that without strong leadership that understands the challenges of our era and puts values before interests, we simply have no future.

Today, young people in Slovenia are searching for answers to very concrete questions: When will we be able to build a home, a family, a business, a life? When will the state stop punishing us for wanting to be independent and responsible? When will we be able to trust that work is valued more than connections, that truth will prevail over ideological agendas, and that we can speak our minds without being labelled as backward, extremist, or enemies of society? The Slovenian Democratic Youth recognises these questions and offers answers based on values that shaped both Slovenian independence and the broader Western civilisation. These values are more than political positions – they are a way of life, a foundation of coexistence, respect, and a healthy future.

The family, as the natural unit of society, should not be a topic of political debate but rather the focus of every responsible government. Faith and spirituality are not relics of the past but essential sources of moral guidance. Freedom of speech is not a luxury but the cornerstone of democracy. Yet we increasingly see this cornerstone being eroded – through censorship, exclusion, and public shaming of anyone who dares to think differently. We, the youth, feel that the current government is not listening to us. That bureaucracy is stifling us. That the media treats us as propaganda tools. That the education system indoctrinates rather than empowers. That cultural policy scorns us unless we follow officially approved aesthetics and narratives. This creates a generation of uncertainty – a generation increasingly thinking about leaving. But we do not want to leave. We want to stay. We want to build our lives here, at home.

But for that, we need a country that makes it possible. And that is why we say – it is time for Janša. We need someone who will listen to young people, strengthen the economy, simplify legislation, and lower taxes. Someone who will clearly say “no” to ideological experiments in gender, education, and culture. Someone who understands that Christian identity is not about imposition, but about the cultural backbone of a nation – one that has shaped our language, our worldview, and our sense of justice for centuries.

At SDM, we know that talking about change is not enough – it must be lived. Someone who has already proven capable of leading the country through the hardest times – during war, the pandemic, and the migrant crisis. Janša was there when it mattered most – not for personal gain, but out of responsibility to the country. His politics are based on clear priorities: nation, family, work, security, faith, knowledge, and freedom. These are not empty words; they are a programme for the survival of the nation.

We, the youth, are the future, but without leadership that allows us to grow, we are left to experiments that deny our identity. We no longer accept this. It is time for young people to take responsibility – not by repeating slogans, but by demanding real answers. And one of those answers is clear: it is time for Janša. Time for values, for order, for truth. Time to turn away from decay and begin rebuilding – on solid foundations. It is not just his words that speak for him, it is his actions. And we need action. If we want Slovenia to remain a country where we can live, create, and believe in the future, we must choose a path that is clear, tested, and courageous. A path that leads through responsibility and patriotism. That is why, once again – it is time for Janša.
