Again, against Janša: Janković’s support for Golob, which is not support at all!

By: L.K.F., Siol

“It was not about a political support. It was about his voice. And it is right that everyone can explain their voice. Otherwise, we are not connected with Positive Slovenia. Even less so with its past. We are entering the political scene completely unencumbered by this,” answered Robert Golob – according to Siol.net reporting – to Uroš Slak on POP TV last night, when asked if it would pay off for his party to be supported by an honorary guest, the president of Positive Slovenia Zoran Janković, at an election convention on Saturday.

Before the previous elections, Janković supported Karl Erjavec with a special coalition against Janez Janša. This did not end well for DeSUS and Erjavec, adds Peter Jančič in Siol’s article.

Jančič continues that because of the affair with a pharmacist and his unusually good relationship with Russian dictator Putin, Janković is considered a dangerous ally. Yesterday, Slak also hosted former Prime Minister Marjan Šarec on POP TV, who was re-elected president of the party named after him over the weekend. Robert Golob entered the election period in a similar way as Šarec did four years ago. As the “new face” with which the centre-left parties are trying to return to power this time, believes the author of the article on Siol. Four years ago, Miro Cerar’s SMC was in power at the time of the election.

Media and electoral reality

Golob is in a similar position as Šarec four years ago, mainly according to public opinion polls. But four years ago, after public opinion polls between Mediana and Ninamedia showed victory for Šarec before the official election campaign, the election unfolded, with Janez Janša’s SDS gaining a relative victory by a large margin and LMŠ far behind, just before SD, which was still led by Dejan Židan at the time. On Sunday, in a show Ura moči, Janez Janša said in a conversation with its creator and host Bojan Požar, about who will be his main competitor in the elections this time: “We do not know.” To Požar’s sub-question that it was Robert Golob, Janša answered: “Marjan Šarec was also there before the last elections, and then we saw how the towels were thrown in. So, one is the media reality that is created by force, the other is what the elections show.”

Jankovič’s support is useless

In the past, Šarec and Golob were both in Zoran Janković’s Positive Slovenia. Golob was previously in the LDS, later in the SAB of Alenka Bratušek. Before the transfer, he became famous with the famous assessment that he is a jumper, and Zoran Janković is not the king of Positive Slovenia, he is the queen who can be sacrificed with Alenka Bratušek to take power.

In the previous elections, before which Janković supported Erjavec, the DeSUS party suffered a significant defeat, and Erjavec was not even elected to the National Assembly. The photo below shows Erjavec, who was considered one of the most pro-Russian foreign ministers in the EU after the occupation of Crimea, and Zoran Janković, who even received an award from Russian dictator Putin during that period. He has not returned them even after Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

The deadline for submitting candidate lists for the parliamentary elections will expire on Thursday, at which time all parties that will try to run in the elections will be known. Who all the candidates of these parties are, however, will not be officially known until April, because the state electoral commission will have to check the correctness of all submitted candidacies. Candidate lists will be published by April 8th.
