The 36th international literary festival Vilenica opened in Ljubljana with a conference examining the complex relationship between literature and war.
Offering a mix of online and in-person events, the festival explores the broader theme of fear and courage. The Vilenica Prize will be conferred on Austrian writer Josef Winkler on Saturday. While the Slovenian author in focus is Milan Dekleva, this year’s Vilenica anthology will feature contemporary Portuguese literature.
