The situation unfolding in Israel in the past few days has led many to speak up on various international forums. US President Joe Biden expressed his support of Israel, but organisations linked to US stock market speculator George Soros have lined up behind the Palestinians.
In recent days, Islamist terrorist have launched hundreds of rockets from the West Bank. The Israeli army responded by retaliatory strikes, and its Iron Dome air defence system intercepted most of the rockets.
Many of the world’s leading politicians have shared their views on the situation, with US President Joe Biden expressing his opinion that Israel did not overreact in its response. Many organisations, however, voiced strong disagreement, as several NGOs affiliated with George Soros have sided with the Palestinians.
The left-leaning environmentalist group Sunrise Movement published its position on Twitter, without even mentioning the people of Israel. They wrote:
In another tweet, they said:
The Sunrise Movement has received significant funding from George Soros.
Financial reports from last spring show that the political action committee Democracy PAC, established and financed by George Soros, has injected 250 thousand dollars into the organisation.
US stock market speculator George Soros prefers not to leave the outcome of the US presidential race on 3 November to chance….
Another anti-Israel NGO, the Human Rights Watch, also took to Twitter to speak out for the Palestinians. They shared an earlier article accusing Israel of practising apartheid.
In 2018, the Human Rights Watch was awarded 275 thousand dollars by OSF.
Mr Soros is also known for providing funding to several anti-Semitic organisations.
The Palestinian media outlet Wattan News was granted a hefty 405 thousand dollars between 2012 and 2014 by Soros’s foundation, the American-Jewish Tablet portal reported back in 2016. Wattan News published a series of articles with anti-Semitic content, including a piece that denied the Holocaust. These writings were later removed. In a statement, OSF condemned the content published by Wattan and admitted that it provides support for Israeli and Palestinian civil society groups. In 2017, Wattan TV was granted an additional 400 thousand dollars by OSF.
As to the US stock market speculator, there appears to be little in the way of compassion for Israel. In 1995, during an interview witha New Yorker journalist, Mr Soros said: “I don’t deny the Jews their right to a national existence, but I don’t want to be a part of it”.
American stock market speculator Gorge Soros is conspicuously unresponsive to V4NA’s questions regarding the anti-Semitic and discriminatory slurs used by Soros’s editor-in-chief….
