Conditions worsen in outskirts of Milan

By: V4 Agency

Authorities registered three stabbing attacks around Milan’s infamous Viale Molise avenue last week. Recently, Lega MEP Silvia Sardone has visited the occupied buildings and Milan’s most dangerous streets, where she also spoke to migrants. Later, she shared a video in which she presented the bleak conditions that prevail.

Lega MEP Silvia Sardone has condemned the umpteenth crime committed in the neighbourhood. The lawmaker has spent the past few months looking into the most troublesome areas of Milan.

“Last night there was a brief fire on Viale Molise, right at the Liberty building complex occupied by illegal migrants, who presumably caused the blaze. There were three stabbing attacks in the neighbourhood last week alone,” Silvia Sardone said, listing some incidents.

Crime rate in the outskirts of Milan is extremely high. Citizens live in fear because of the escalating violence and lack of institutions. Firefighters and ambulance services only visit the area in case there is a serious incident. It appears that the neighbourhood has been consigned to criminals and illegal immigrants, many of whom make ends meet by selling drugs.

“The situation is alarming but the municipality and the mayor don’t care about what is happening in the area,” said Silvia Sardone, who began documenting the events taking place inside the vacant buildings on Viale Molise. She shared her expriences and some photos on social media.

“I carried out a field inspection of the abandoned buildings on Monday morning. I found a dramatic situation: dozens of immigrants of all nationalities crowded into the property among piles of rubbish. No evictions have taken place recently, and the municipality did not take any steps to protect the buildings that were evacuated earlier,” Silvia Sardone said.

Unrest continues in Milan

In the suburbs of Milan, local residents are exposed to the attacks of illegal migrants and violent crime is on the rise….

The MEP has collected the testimonies of those living in precarious conditions in the occupied buildings. “They said they had been there for a while and had come to Italy by boat or on the Balkan route in recent years. Along the lengthy corridors, entire rooms were seen covered in rubbish with some rooms exhibiting clear signs of past fires,” Silvia Sardone explained.

The MEP added: “there are power distributors and electrical wires everywhere, an electric fire can easily break out in any room. However, social services come and visit migrants every week and distribute food and clothing to them.”

“Is this the concept of law for the left? Is this the model of inclusion that the Democratic Party proudly represents every day? What else should happen before an intervention? It is scandalous that the mayor has never showed up in this area to witness the turmoil some parts of the city were forced into by of the left’s immigration policy. The indifference of the municipality of Milan is a disgrace to the whole city!” the MEP of the Lega party said.
