Chicago police block church parking lots to prohibit large gatherings

Chicago police block church parking lots to prohibit large gatherings.

The Chicago Police Department dispatched patrol vehicles to block some church parking lots on Sunday in order to prevent large gatherings and enforce the state’s stay-at-home order.

Lightfoot announced Monday that the city will fine churches that defy the stay-at-home order by conducting in-person services with more than 10 people.

She asked churches to refrain from large gatherings until Chicago begins to reopen in June.
