Illegal migrant along the road exit for Vogrsko stabbed a Slovenian cab driver with a knife, he also attacked a police officer who had to shoot…

On the road exit Vogrsko, an illegal immigrant (Iraqi) first damaged in a taxi a Slovenian driver with a knife and on the arrival of the police, he also attacked a police officer who then had to use firearms, reports internet portal 24 UR.

The police explained that on Sunday they received a call from two citizens that they were stopped on the road, by a bloodied man, who wanted help, on the road exit Vogrsko, while the other man was sitting in a nearby taxi. Police officers of Nova Gorica Police Station immediately intervened on the place where they found a man, a taxi driver who was physically injured and bleeding on the neck. A rescue vehicle was sent to the scene. The driver said that he was attacked by a man who sat in his taxi. The police asked the man, with official pistols, to leave the vehicle and lie down on the floor. The suspect responded to policeman calls with threats in the English language and then he left the vehicle and ran with a knife in a hand toward one of the police officers. Policeman shot into the air a warning shot and the suspect did not stop, so the policeman hit him in the lower part of the leg, disabled him and then the policeman’s took away his knife, reports internet portal 24 UR.

The attacker was taken to a hospital in Sempeter, where he remained in medical care and under police supervision, as they detained him. The attacked policeman was easily injured during the intervention.

The police said: “Police officers of the Nova Gorica Police station immediately intervened on the place of the crime, where they found a man and a taxi driver who was physically injured and bleeding on the neck. A rescue vehicle was sent to the place. The driver told him that he was attacked by a man, who was sitting in a nearby taxi vehicle. In order to arrest a suspected criminal, policeman approached the taxi and asked the man to leave the vehicle and lie down on the floor. Because they were of the opinion that this is a dangerous procedure, as a security they used an official pistol. The suspect responded to calls (in English, since they found out that he was a foreigner) with threats to the police officers. When he left the vehicle, he ran with a knife in his hand against one of the policemen, the police officer then fired a warning shot into the air, but as the suspect did not stop, policeman was forced to shot and hit him in the lower part of his leg and then the suspect was disabled by the policeman, who took away his knife.”

The police do not report whether the attacker is the Iraqi doctor, engineer, astronaut or nanotechnologist.

Criminal investigators are still investigating whether there was a conflict between smugglers of illegal migrants.
