Do they also smuggle Russian oil to Koper?

By: Spletni časopis

On the X network, TankerTracker’s account publishes, with the help of satellite images, the travels of tankers attempting to conceal the transportation of oil from the areas of Russia and Kazakhstan.

The vessels transporting oil are equipped with devices that allow monitoring of their routes, but in cases where they attempt to conceal something, they either deactivate them or modify them to show incorrect locations. Satellite images of tankers concealing their positions have revealed an interesting route from the Black Sea towards Europe, with the apparent destination being the top of the Adriatic Sea, where only the ports of Trieste or Koper are capable of transferring oil from large tankers.

It involves, as estimated, half a million barrels per day. In Koper, if this port is the destination, there are not many companies capable of handling such a large quantity of oil. Among these could be Petrol, which is partly owned by the state and partly by private companies, including those from the Czech Republic.

In the post on the X network, the name of the tanker is mentioned, sailing under the Greek flag, Delta Star, which, according to the portal tracking vessel routes https://www.vesselfinder.com/, is currently on its way from Trieste to Turkey. In Trieste, this vessel has docked five times in the past year. Koper is not listed among the places where this vessel has docked in the last year. The chief engineer on the ship is a Russian citizen. In the port of Trieste, the Chinese had very enterprising goals, intending to invest heavily in the past.
