Most popular baby names of 2019 so far – including 80s classics making a comeback

EXCLUSIVE: Parenting website BabyCentre has been doing some research into the most popular names picked by parents in 2019.

The most popular baby names of 2019 so far have been revealed, including a host of new monikers inspired by hit Netflix shows, Love Island and Game of Thrones .

A number of names popular in the 80s are also making a comeback, and despite the uncertain (and sometimes laughable) political landscape many British parents have found inspiration from what’s going on at Number 10 . 

Parenting website BabyCentre has analysed the baby register for the past six months to find out what names mums and dads have been picking for their new arrivals.

Olivia and Sophia hold on to the top two spots on the girls list, which is unchanged from 2018.
