We can all get “turned off,” and the global public has now fully realised that we have reached a point when companies, citing political reasons, can refuse to provide private services, Hungary’s justice minister pointed out on social media.

So far, the global tech companies’ restrictions have only affected freedom of opinion and speech, but the ideological campaign seen  in America is evidence that people can even be switched off from the online space, according to a recent social media post by Hungary’s justice minister. People can get disconnected from the space where “they live their daily lives, manage their work and businesses, store their memories and keep in touch with their friends, acquiantances and loved ones,” she added.

“It may come as a surprise that Merkel, Weber, and several European leaders have also spoken out against the move of the tech companies – otherwise dear to them – promoting a globalist liberal ideology. It may come as a surprise, but they’ve probably realised that all of this can happen to them and they can also get deleted if they don’t behave as expected,” Judit Varga wrote.

“As we work to create the conditions for online legal certainty and transparency, we should consider whether it is really worthwhile to base our lives on social media,” she noted.

“Let’s tell our children, friends, loved ones that we need to live our real life and even rebuild it to replace virtual life. Because in our real life, we can always make our own decisions,” JM Varga concluded.
