Nearly 50 US Muslim politicians and officials have endorsed Democratic candidate Joe Biden for president, against Donald Trump. The letter was issued by an organisation called Emgage, which cooperates with anti-Semitic and homophobic organisations, and is also backed by US stock market speculator George Soros.
Back at end of July, nearly 50 Muslim politicians and officials announced in a letter that they endorsed Democratic candidate Joe Biden for president, and asked their supporters to vote for him in the elections on 3 November. The signatories of the letter include individuals who have previously appeared in the news because of serious anti-Semitic and anti-Israel statements.
Ilhan Omar, the first signatory, is a Democratic MP from Minnesota. The Muslim politician has previously submitted a resolution to the US House of Representatives declaring that the United States has the right to boycott Israel.
Another signatory, Democrat Andre Carson, had not distanced himself earlier from Nation of Islam’s anti-Semitic leader, Louis Farrakhan. Fellow Democrat Keith Ellison is also a supporter of Farrakhan.
The letter was issued by a Muslim organisation called the Emgage PAC. Joe Biden was so touched by the signatories’ endorsement that he expressed his gratitude to them in a video message.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, George Soros spent more than 48 million dollars on lobbying in 2019 through Open Society Policy Center. Out of this sum, Emgage received 1 million dollars, the news outlet reports.
Emgage has co-operated with a group affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood on events that in recent years attracted speakers who openly opposed LGBT rights, as the Muslim organisation became an official co-host of conferences organised by Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).
Earlier, ISNA was revealed to be part of the Muslim Brotherhood network — though it claims it is no longer associated with the group.
According to the Jewish Voice news portal, one conference featured Omar Suleiman, an imam who has called homosexuality a “disease”. Another speaker, former ISNA presidentMuzammil Siddiqi said he “supported laws in countries where homosexuality is punishable by death.”
