Continuing its policy of unifying and establishing “LGBT rights” across the European Union as part of a “rainbow Europe”, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on 13th September by 387 votes to 161 with 123 abstentions calling on the European Commission to take measures to introduce ‘gay marriage’ and adoption rights for gay couples across the European Union, with explicit reference to Poland, Romania and Hungary. This resolution has provoked a number of reactions, particularly in Central Europe.

A completely unfounded political resolution

First of all, Hungarian Justice Minister Judit Varga, quoted by the magazine Mandiner, reacted to this “completely unfounded political resolution“:“It seems that the EP is still hurt by the fact that Hungary, with its Child Protection Act, prohibits any form of sexual propaganda in public educational institutions, schools and kindergartens […] They are embarrassed by our opposition to pressure and the LGBTQ lobby. […]

Child-rearing is the sole responsibility of parents and is enshrined in Article 14 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. Is that so hard to understand in Brussels?

[…] The European Parliament wants to dictate what is considered marriage and family, and it also wants to have a say in the relationship between children and parents. […] Once again, they want to give us top-down advice in areas that fall within national competence. […]

Every adult in Hungary lives as he or she see fit, according to his or her own will and worldview. However, the education of children is the exclusive right of parents. We’re not going to give in!”

Typical example of a neo-Marxist dictatorship

The same opinion is held in Warsaw, where the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Tomasz Rzymkowski – quoted by Do Rzeczy – describes this umpteenth resolution of the European Parliament on this subject as ” a typical example ofa neo-Marxist dictatorship“:

“Thiskind of action by the European Parliament is to be strongly condemned, as it is a purely ideological action.

[…] Nobody talks around the bush anymore. […] It is an attempt to drive the countries of Europe into a kind of ideological war, an attempt to create a new human being. Neo-Marxism in its pure form…”

Another blatant violation of the law

For Polish MEP Patryk Jaki(Solidarna Polska),this is ‘another blatant violation of law, treaties, good morals and the principles of diplomacy, since the resolution seeks to impose on other Member States issues of family law, culture, ethics, morality and religion, all of which fall within the exclusive competence of the Member States.

EU officials are deliberately violating the rule of law and trying to enforce something they know the Poles don’t approve of and treat Poland like their colony.”

Marriage is exclusively the union between a man and a woman

The spokesman of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Vasile Bănescu – quoted by Digi24.ro – recalls that“in the field of family law, i.e. marriage,

the Member States of the European Union have complete legislative independence. […] There can therefore be no question of compulsory recognition of so-called same-sex marriages throughout the European Union.

[…] The position of the Christian churches, but also of the other religious denominations in Romania, in relation to marriage (a civil institution that, of course, throughout history has been reserved for the exclusive union of man and woman) is the natural position based on the universal moral law that underlies every healthy society in the past, present and future.”
