A Warsaw cafe decided to sell Christmas wafers with a red lightning bolt, the symbol of pro-abortion protesters. Breaking the Christmas wafer and wishing Merry Christmas on Christmas eve is a family tradition in Poland with Christian roots. Mocking it is yet another provocation targeted at Polish families and Christians.

At family dinners on Christmas Eve, Poles pass around a wafer and everyone breaks a piece off, saying good wishes to family members. The Polish tradition has Christian roots, evoking the Last Supper when Jesus broke the bread and gave it to his disciples. It also refers to the Lord’s Prayer, “Give us each day our daily bread.”

Christmas traditions of Visegrad Four countries

The end of Advent marks the beginning of Christmas, one of the most anticipated holidays of the year….

This tradition has become the target of mockery by Polish pro-abortion protesters, who have launched attacks against the Catholic church, church buildings and traditional values in various ways in recent months. The news portal Prawicowy Internet has drawn attention to the latest provocation.

In recent years, Poles adhering to traditional values and Catholics in particular have come under fierce attack at demonstrations and rallies staged by extremist LGBTQ organisations. LMBTQ activists like to distort church traditions and sacred texts to draw attention to their community and to denounce and ridicule conservative views.

A café supporting the pro-abortion Women’s Strike movement has now begun to sell Christmas wafers depicting a red lightning bolt, a pro-abortionist symbol. This was reported on social media by a supporter of the campaign, who added that the proceeds from selling the wafers will go to Women’s Strike.

Comments reveal that the initiative was not a huge success. Several commenters found it disgusting, embarrassing and shocking. Some asked why the activists were using church traditions to attack the church.
