Poland has to be increasingly ready to leave an EU to foist its liberal political ideology on to the country, warns Editor-in-Chief of ‘Do Rzeczy’ weekly Paweł Lisick.
Although Poland leaving the European Union is not desirable, given the tense current political climate, the country needs to prepare for that scenario, the editor-in-chief of conservative weekly Do Rzeczy, Paweł Lisicki, said in an interview.
Do Rzeczy came under fire for bringing up the issue of Polexit on the cover of its most recent publication, prompting Lisicki to respond to his critics.
Lisicki said he believes that for the last few years Poland has been experiencing an EU which has increasingly looked to subject Poland to Western Europe’s political ideology.
“Sixteen years ago, we were told that the EU would be a form of defense and representation of Polish interests including economic ones. Many Poles perceived accession to the EU as a civilizational leap due to easier transfer of money and goods, facilitated transport throughout the continent, etc.,” Lisicki told portal Polonia Christiana.
