PM Orban: We will not allow LGBTQ activists among our children in schools and kindergartens

By: V4 Agency

The European Parliament and the European Commission want us to let LGBTQ activists into our schools and kindergartens, but we will not allow this, the Hungarian prime minister said Thursday to journalists in Belgrade.

Viktor Orban considered Wednesday’s debate in the European Parliament on the Hungarian Child Protection and Paedophilia Act “a useful debate”.

“Positions are completely visible, all is clear and understandable. The European Parliament and the European Commission want us to let LGBTQ activists and organizations into kindergartens and schools,” he said and highlighted that Hungary does not want to do this.

The debate is about who decides on how to educate children. According to the fundamental European treaties, this is obviously an issue for Hungarians to decide as it falls under national jurisdiction.

“The bureaucrats in Brussels should stay out of this,” said the prime minister, adding “whatever they do, we will not let LGBTQ activists among our children in kindergartens and schools”.
