We have reached the third phase of our economic policy. The situation is difficult, but restarting the Hungarian economy is key. We would like make progress by overtaking others on the bend, Hungarian PM Viktor Orban said in a new video shared on social media, regarding his upcoming trip to Uzbekistan on Tuesday.

“The whole country is fighting against the pandemic, but we also have to keep an eye on restarting the economy. The situation is difficult, but restarting the Hungarian economy is key. We would like to make progress by overtaking others on the bend,” Viktor Orban said.

The prime minister stressed that the first phase of the Hungarian government’s economic recovery policy was marked by attracting foreign investors to Hungary in order to create jobs and bring in modern technologies.

“In the second phase, we strengthened Hungarian small and medium-sized businesses to be able to export their products made in Hungary,” he added.

“We have entered the third phase, when reinforced Hungarian businesses establish companies and make investments abroad, and they will bring the profits generated there back to Hungary. Thus, we will restore the financial equilibrium of Hungary’s economy,” PM Orban said.

His imminent trip to Uzbekistan aims to expand business opportunities for Hungarian companies, he added.

“Large, successful Hungarian companies, such as OTP Bank, and medium-sized enterprises will also be represented. I hope that we will have successful negotiations and further strengthen Hungary’s economy today,” PM Orban said, concluding his video message.
