A new suspected terrorist attack happened on Tuesday, 24th of November, this time in a Swiss city Lugano. A woman, aged 28, attacked and wounded two other women in a knife attack which took place in a department store. The suspect, who has been arrested, was previously known to the federal police as a person involved in, and connected to, Jihadi terrorism.
Reportedly the attacker grabbed a person by the neck and stabbed another in a department store in the city. One of the victims was only lightly injured, but the other victim suffered serious, although not life threatening wounds, and is currently in a hospital. Swiss authorities have since stated that they suspect the attack was terrorist in nature. Their estimation is among other things based on the fact that the woman who stabbed her victims has a jihadi background.
News website Swissinfo has since reported that the woman with a Swiss citizenship, responsible for the attack was a known jihadist who fell in love online with a militant jihadist fighter from Syria. At some point she tried to visit him, but the Turkish authorities turned her back from the border to Syria.
