A group of illegal migrants has been transported to a refugee center in Thebes, central Greece. The migrants, however, refused to set foot in the centre and demanded to be taken to a luxury hotel where some of them have been provided accommodation before.
The illegal migrants were previously housed in a five-star hotel in Nea Makri, Radio Thiva writes.
After being bussed to the reception centre in Thebes, they refused to accept their accommodation. As the bus had to leave, the migrants – including children – set up camp near the local police station, still refusing to enter the reception centre. They asked to be taken to a hotel instead.
As the weather turned cooler, they even lit a fire near the police building. At that point police intervened and transported them to the centre.
