The April survey in France, regarding the possible winner of next year´s 2022 presidential elections showed that Marine Le Pen could beat almost every possible leftist candidate.
The strongest candidate against Le Pen would be the center-right Xavier Bertrand, who can hope to gain 59 percent of the votes, while the current president, Macron, would win 55 percent. If the elections took place now, Le Pen would win 41 percent of the votes. She would beat the far-left Jean-Luc Melenchon, while the “environmental” candidate Yannick Jadot would also lose to Le Pen. The survey also prognoses that the leftist mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo would get the same number of votes as Le Pen.
