Director of the Jewish interests group, ADL, or the Anti-Defamation League, published a recent article titled “Stepping Up to Stop Hate Online” in which he calls on the incoming Biden administration to curb and censor the online speech.

In the article, which was published on a website called the Stanford Social Innovation Review, the leader of ADL Jonathan A. Greenblatt urges the Biden administration to engage in online censorship regarding some political and racial issues. The censorship would of course mostly target various white advocates and groups on the Right that stand against mass migrations and have politically incorrect opinions.

In his article, Greenblatt relies on a “research” produced by his own ADL group and claims that there is an epidemic of “Right-Wing Violence”, although in the last year we witnessed mostly violence, riots, and destruction of monuments and private property, as well as threats and attacks, from the Leftists, Black Life Matter activists and various Antifa of neo-Marxist groups.  But all these events and incidents are absent from his article.

He also invoked the U.S. First Amendment and the right of US citizens to Free Speech, using the distinction between the “private” and “public” platforms, while ignoring the issue of whether the companies that rely on government subsidy and infrastructure for their existence should really have the right to deny the US citizens their constitutional rights.

Greenblatt calls on the government to “step in and require better oversight, accountability, and transparency so that social media companies are motivated to curb the overwhelming harassment, intimidation, and hate speech on their platforms.” While applauding the actions against so-called “hate speech” taken by big social network corporations, he believes that some platforms need to moderate their posts. He claims that of course “everyone has a right to expression free from government regulation”, but then adds that “press outlets and social media aren’t public places; they’re private businesses”, and that they have an “ethical obligation” regarding this issue.

While unlike Europe, where we witness the crackdown on free speech in the name of “hate speech”, the U.S. Constitution guarantees free speech, but such attempts as Greenblatt’s calling for censorship of those with unpopular opinions are increasing as the international elites are trying to prevent opinions that could hurt their plans being heard.
