JEAN-CLAUDE Juncker has launched a savage attack on Hungary over the nation’s anti-EU campaign, warning Viktor Orban there is no place for his ruling Fidesz party in the European People’s Party (EPP).
The EU chief stepped up his battle with Budapest after the rebel state launched a taxpayer-funded campaign accusing the European Commission and billionaire George Soros of threatening the country’s security with a controversial migration policy.
Mr Juncker branded the campaign, featuring Mr Juncker and Hungarian-American businessman Mr Soros on a poster alongside warnings about the bloc’s migration plans, as “lies”.
Speaking at a public meeting in Stuttgart, Germany, the European Commission president said: “Against lies there’s not much you can do.
