Police in Brussels arrested a man last week who had been threatening to stab random passers-by on the street while repeatedly shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’.
On Wednesday morning around 11 am, police in the Brussels-West zone received numerous calls from individuals who said that a man on the street had threatened them with a knife, Het Laatste Nieuws reports.
The man allegedly asked some of the people walking by were Jewish before going on to threaten them with a knife while yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’.
Once police arrived at the scene and tried to stop the man, he fled on foot. A chase then ensued which involved several police teams.
Eventually, police were able to arrest the man in Jean Dubrucqstraat in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, despite having to order him to drop his knife several times.
