Three members of the San Francisco School Board voted out of office early

Actually, you don’t expect too good news from San Francisco. After all, the voters of this city voted 86% (!) for sleepy Joe in the last presidential election. The Republicans are in a losing position there.

But these days there are positive things to report. Three senior members of the city’s school board — Vice President Alison Collins, gabriela Lopez and Faauuga (no typo!) Moliga – have been removed from office in an early election of more than seventy percent of citizens. The reason: Even loyal supporters of the Democratic Party, which is quite far to the left in San Francisco, the hustle and bustle of the trio has become too colorful.

Already in 2019, a year after their election, the three are causing resentment because they want to have a mural from the 1930s removed at George Washington High School because it is racist and hurtful to the feelings of African Americans and Indigenous people. The picture shows George Washington’s slaves on his farm in Mont Vernon and a dead Indian at his feet. After fierce discussion, it is agreed not to remove the painting, but to cover it.

At the same time, the school board began to look for schools whose names are considered politically incorrect. In 2021, 44 schools will be renamed, over a third of all educational institutions in the city. The slave owner George Washington fell victim to the spell, but also the former presidents Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodor Roosevelt. Instead of ensuring orderly teaching during the pandemic, the authority dealt with name changes. As a result, angry parents begin collecting signatures for a recall, which has now taken place.

The Asian-born voters of San Francisco contributed significantly to the overthrow of the three officials. As is well known, the descendants of Chinese and Japanese immigrants attach particular importance to the education of their offspring. Therefore, such children are often found in prestigious educational institutions. The very woken authority did not like this at all and they stepped in.

In order to increase the proportion of black and Hispanic children at the famous Lowell High School, the admission procedure was changed without further ado. So far, the admission was based on good grades, which in itself is a fair criterion. As a result, 60% of the listeners are of Asian origin. The school board replaced this merit principle with a random principle: now the admission is done by a lottery …

The anger of parents, whose children are disadvantaged by this, grew even more when so-called tweets (messages on Twitter) of the aforementioned Alison Collins from 2016 become known. The dark-skinned Collins accused the Asians of using white superiority thinking to move forward, but they should not imagine their status as an exemplary minority, because – according to Collins literally – they ultimately remain only useful house negroes of the whites.

Political observers say: For the Democratic Party, events such as those in San Francisco are a less good omen for the election to renew the Senate and House of Representatives in November.
