A man in Britain was fired from an »Asian company« for being white. Breitbart News website reports that a British white man, 31-year-old Colin Sorby noticed that his shifts in a restaurant owned by Mumtaz Foods decreased after he complained that his Pakistani supervisor Azheem Akhtar stated that only South Asians should be working for the company.

Tribunal judge T.R. Smith has ruled that “Mr. Akhtar called the Claimant to one side in the production area on 16 October 2019 and told the Claimant that this was an Asian company and he should go and work for an English company”. The judge thus rejected claims that the British worker misunderstood the statement of his supervisor. “The comment was not trivial or unintended and Mr. Akhtar’s intention was to try and persuade the claimant to leave the First Respondent’s employment,” the judge added.

Mr. Sorby was terminated from his job three weeks after formally complaining against the comments of his supervisor by human resources manager Paulo Silva, who cited complaints about his work performance from his supervisor as the reason for his termination.

“The effect of the comment was that due to the fact the Claimant was English he could not cook Asian food properly. This was a stereotypical assumption that was not predicated on any factual basis,” said the judge, who was clear that there was no evidence of any concern about Sorby’s performance before he complained, reported Breitbart.

The judge also agreed that Mr. Sorby was a victim of racial discrimination, harassment, and victimization, stating that “the context is everything”. “Mr. Akhtar was seeking to justify why the Claimant’s employment should, effectively, be terminated”, said the judge. A compensation for Mr. Sorby is to be determined.
