Back in 1983, a group of communists exploded a bomb in the US Capitol Building. One of the emblematic figures involved was Susan Rosenberg, who shows a great deal of activity today around the Black Lives Matter movement. According to official documents, BLM has come under the influence of an organisation sponsored by US stock market speculator George Soros.

Last week the storming of the US Capitol by a group of Donald Trump supporters has provoked a general outcry. Five people lost their lives in the clashes, but this is not the first time that the building of the US legislature has come under attack.

On 7 November 1983, a bomb exploded in the US Capitol’s Senate wing. Although the blast had no casualties and no one was injured, the physical damage amounted to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Radical left-wingers were behind the attack. The FBI arrested seven people in connection with the bombing, including Susan Rosenberg, the best known amongst the former detainees.

Throughout her life, Ms Rosenberg has been active around revolutionary groups. She was involved in the radical leftist Weather Underground Organization (WUO), supported the Puerto Rico independence movement and joined the communist terrorist organisation May 19th (M19CO). M19CO provided support to the Black Liberation Army.

Ms Rosenberg was captured by the FBI in 1984 and sentenced to 58 years in prison a year later. However, she only spent 16 years in jail. She was released when US President Bill Clinton granted her presidential pardon on his last day in office in 2001.

After her release, she became the communications director of the American Jewish World Service. She also co-founded the National Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls, a prison abolitionist organisation.

Curiously, both organisations appear on the website of George Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF).

The former received 150,000 dollars from OSF in 2017 and 300,000 dollars in 2018.

The latter was granted 25,000 dollars by OSF in both 2016 and 2018.

Susan Rosenberg’s activity at NGOs, however, did not end there. She’s currently the vice president of a left-wing organisation called Thousand Currents (TC). Interestingly, Thousand Currents deleted information of its board members from its website, so Ms Rosenberg’s biography is also unavailable. The page, however, can be retrieved from the internet archive.

TC is responsible for managing and delivering financial aid to the right places. The organisation began working with the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation in 2016.

According to the influencewatch.org portal, the first major sponsor of BLM was the W.K. Kellog Foundation, which donated it 900 thousand dollars over three years. The money was earmarked for the establishment of local BLM “branches.”

Thousand Currents paid 3.3 million dollars to the BLM movement in 2019, and am additional 2.6 million dollars in 2019.

According to official documents from the California Department of Justice, Thousand Currents transferred control of the BLM Global Network Foundation to the Tides Center last year.

Moreover, the organisation also became part of one of the largest political networks in the world, boasting a revenue stream of 636 million dollars in 2018 alone.

Tides Foundation is the parent organisation of the Tides Center. Both enjoy a high level of financial support by Soros’s foundation.

The former received 2.2 million dollars from OSF in 2018.

The latter was granted 2.4 million.
