Ticket inspectors have suffered another attack by a migrant in the Milan Metro.

On Monday night, a man of Egyptian descent displayed what many have described as disorderly conduct in the Milan Metro, waving a broken bottle in hs hand. He was eventually neutralised by staff at the Milan Transport Company (ATM).

Two days later a similar incident involved a troublemaking Senegalese migrant, according to the Italian Il Giornale newspaper. The 22-year-old man reportedly refused to validate his ticket at Doumo Metro Station at Milan Cathedral. He climbed through the entrance gate and started running. The paper writes that he wanted to catch the first arriving train, but he was caught by three ATM security personnel. He began kicking and punching them, managing to bash an ATM staffer on the head and charging at the arriving officers.

The attacked inspectors had to be hospitalised due to their injuries.

Although the Senegalese man was, he was soon released and will stand trial in March. Officers found a residence permit on him which expired in February, he had no work and lived off Italian state benefits.

Riccardo De Corato, a politician from the Brothers of Italy (Fratelli d’Italia) party, says the fate of the employees of the Milan Transport Company “is in the hands of thugs who keep attacking them”.
