This is the real reason why the STA does not hand over the required documentation to the government

“The journalist of the Slovenian Press Agency finally revealed why the director Bojan Veselinovič did not want to hand over the documentation to Ukom – not because there would be legal obstacles, as the director always said, but – because they were afraid that this documentation would come to the public. So what are they really hiding?” UKOM director Uroš Urbanija responded to a statement by STA journalist Mihael Šuštaršič, who is otherwise known for his vulgar outbursts.

“Between STA, its employees, and the government and Ukom on the other hand, trust, that is necessary to resolve the situation, has never developed. It was never a matter of hiding information, but of distrust that Urbanija, driven by the desire to take revenge on the former boss, would abuse this information and make them public for the needs of political reckoning with employees,” STA journalist Mihael Šuštaršič told Delo.

It is known that the director of Ukom, Uroš Urbanija, recently congratulated his journalist colleague on Twitter, who was elected president by the Journalists’ Trade Union. The union assembly clearly positioned itself when it called on the government to meet its financial obligations immediately, and also warned the government to stop pushing RTV into excessive and below-legal reductions in its activities through financial blackmail.

STA journalist Šuštaršič responded to the sincere congratulations with a personal attack, not saying very nice words to Urbanija. However, in the past, the journalist Šuštaršič was also known for even more brutal attacks, so Urbanija received the best of it. On Twitter, he showed off with his choral language: “The wimp congratulates her today, tomorrow he will make sure she is out of a job. At the same time, he constantly insults her for being part of fake news.” He is also a journalist who also allegedly immensely hated former STA editor-in-chief Borut Meško and even wanted to deal with him physically.

He also allegedly physically threatened deputy director Robert Gornik. During his student days, Šuštaršič was an activist of the Young Forum, the youth of the Social Democrats, which has supposedly helped him in the confrontations within the Slovenian Press Agency, or at least that is what he bragged about himself. Šuštaršič’s primitive outbursts directed against Urbanija did not end with the above tweet: “You lying wimp, not all citizens have been funding STA for three months. Because of you! Meanwhile, I still pay you in full, even though you are not even able to look after the sheep, given that your communication “skills” are reflected in 4000+ fresh graves.” Šuštaršič’s latest media coverage can also be understood as a consequence of the weakening of nerves, which (according to his hooligan outbursts from the past) are already of a slightly lighter variety.

Veselinovič also failed in court for the second try

His vulgar outbursts were later erased, and he still remains employed at the STA as if nothing had happened. With Veselinovič’s recent defeat in court, Šuštaršič’s theories and the theories of his boss regarding the legal obligations of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia are collapsing like a house of cards.

The District Court in Ljubljana recently rejected the proposal of the law firm Kozinc & partners, which represents the plaintiff Slovenian Press Agency, Ltd, for the issuance of an interim injunction in a dispute against the Government Communication Office. “The court told STA director Bojan Veselinovič for the second time that this is not the case. One is political acting and the other is working in accordance with the law. And the only right path is the legal path,” Urbanija emphasised in his response.
