The editorial office received some information from one of our readers, who was shopping in Ljubljana’s BTC before the holidays. When he passed the famous Ljubljana bar Playa, which is co-owned by the famous Slovenian singer Jan Plestenjak, he saw something interesting at one of the tables. Namely, Cirman and Vuković, the press duo from the Necenzurirano (Uncensored) web portal, which slanders the government of Janez Janša on a daily basis, and the former secretary, now the chief of staff of the SD party, Uroš Jauševec, were having a drink there.

“I regularly follow the reports of various Slovenian media outlets, so I immediately recognised Primož Cirman and Vesna Vuković. I was especially surprised when I saw that none other than Uroš Jauševec was sitting next to them, who is known to be straight up allergic to the centre-right government of Janez Janša,” the reader told us.

On the one hand, the fact that the Cirman-Vuković-Jauševec trio is meeting up is not surprising, as they are united by their disagreement with the current government. The Necenzurirano web portal slanders the government on a daily basis, and they especially like to focus on Prime Minister Janez Janša and the SDS party. Ever since the first wave of the novel coronavirus broke out, Jauševec has come to the fore as a clear opponent of the government with his Twitter posts. He made it clear that he was an outspoke opponent of the activation of Article 37a of the Defence Act, which would provide military assistance in securing the southern border, and he also announced uprisings against the government at the end of March already. After going a step further in his primitivism, he even called the Minister of the Interior Aleš Hojs a fascist.

And thus, the circle is complete
Given that in recent days, the former Delo and Dnevnik journalist Dejan Karba revealed how disqualification politics works, in a message sent to his friend (first, an initiative is set up, the operation of which is, “completely randomly,” focused on a specific individual, and then the initiative begins to systematically pressure him in one way or another), the aforementioned meeting of the trio shows another side of the coin, so in what way the news travels from politicians to the press. After all, Jauševec is a prominent representative of the SD party. The circle of the intertwining of false news, directed against the current government, is thus complete. And we may soon find out what they talked about.
